Frequently Asked Questions

How much mix do I use per beverage?

For cold drinks (milkshakes, smoothies, frappes), use 60 g of The Art of Blend mix per 16 oz serving. For hot beverages, use 40 g per 8 oz of hot milk (dairy, oat, almond, etc.). The powder is concentrated, so a single dose delivers consistent flavor and creaminess every time.

Should I use water or milk?

Both work. Add water or any milk — oat, dairy, almond, and more — filling the cup to 75-80% for cold drinks, or use 8 oz of hot milk for hot beverages. Milk gives a richer, creamier result; water keeps it lighter. Plant-based milks are fully compatible.

Do I need a blender?

For milkshakes, smoothies, and frappes, yes — blend for about 45 seconds, or until the ice turns to a smooth cream. Hot beverages need no blender: simply stir 40 g of mix into 8 oz of hot milk until fully dissolved.

Which mix should I use for each beverage?

The line is versatile. Velvet and White Chocolate work across milkshakes, smoothies, and frappes; Creative Yogurt is ideal for smoothies; Spiced Chai and Chocolate (21% and 30% cocoa) shine in frappes and hot beverages. Most mixes cross over between cold and hot applications.

What is the difference between a milkshake, a smoothie, and a frappe?

All three share the same base method (ice, liquid, 60 g of mix, blend 45 s) and differ by the added ingredient: milkshakes lean indulgent (cookies & cream, pistachio, hazelnut, peanut paste), smoothies use fruit (avocado, berries, mango) on the Creative Yogurt base, and frappes add coffee-shop flavors (caramel, chocolate, hazelnut).

Can I add my own flavors?

Yes. Blend in your favorite flavor ingredient — fruit, sweets, coffee, or paste — alongside the mix. For premium results, add Dolce Delizia gourmet pastes and fruit purees; Berry and Tropical purees pair especially well with smoothies, while caramel, chocolate, or hazelnut suit frappes.

Are the mixes dairy-free?

No — most of our mixes contain milk (they include milk solids). The Chocolate 30% Cocoa is the exception: its only ingredients are sugar, cocoa, and salt, though it is made on equipment that also processes milk, so traces may be present. Always check each product's specification sheet for its full allergen profile.

How thick can I make my milkshake?

As thick as you like — it comes down to ice and your blender. More ice gives a thicker, creamier shake, so use a blender powerful enough to handle a higher ice load. Blend for about 45 seconds, or until the ice turns to a smooth cream.
